The School Research Committee of Little Light Ministries is busy visiting non-traditional and charter schools in the OKC area. Our goal is to open the Little Light Christian School for children with incarcerated mothers in the fall of 2012. Today (April 12, 2012) we visited the Keystone Adventure School and Farm. What a wonderful place! Honestly, the Keystone School felt like a giant homeschool. I saw so many of the things we did in homeschooling, just on a bit bigger scale. While the worldview of the Keystone School is a little different than that of the Little Light Christian School, they have got one big thing right at Keystone. Children are individual, living people who do not need to be sitting still at desks all day taking standardized tests and crammed into somebody’s educational box. I loved the multi-sensory approach at the Keystone school, and the love that the teachers have for the children, (and their jobs!) The entire campus feels like home, which is the way it should be.

While you are there, would you like us?
